She has worked in a variety of non-profit, public, and private sector environments including political, corporate, healthcare, and non-profit marketing and communications. Amanda comes to 463 from the press office of Senator John D. Rockefeller IV, working closely with the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Technology, chaired by Rockefeller. She has also worked as a public relations consultant with Ideality Communications, based in Pittsburgh. Here, she focused on building a traditional media presence and developing social media strategy for a wide variety of corporate clients.

Prior to this, she worked at West Virginia University’s Center for Neuroscience where she managed a project obtaining $5.5 million dollars from the National Institutes of Health.

Her earliest professional efforts involved developing regional integrated marketing strategy, tactical execution, and metric analysis for the National Youth Advocate Program. The plan was adopted nationally, more than doubling the organization's return.

Amanda graduated with a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications and holds BA degrees in Political Science and Communications from West Virginia University.
